Background:
Born the son of a young slave girl when she was only fourteen, Draconis knew slavery from the moment his eyes opened. Spending much of his childhood in the kitchen or the market, he never knew what life was like outside of slavery, thus never growing discontent until he was a teenager. Late one night, he snuck out of the manse and to the market, following rumors of an auction his father had always banned him from. Upon arrival, he crept along the rooftops lining the market and saw dozens of people in chains, lined up and being marched off of ships bearing the flag of the three-headed dragon- Meereen. One by one, he saw the dark side of the greatest city that ever was or will be, and the lie of his own life. Returning to his master's manse in a rage, he took the ancient bow he'd heard the story of a thousand times, a single barbed arrow, and ended his master's life. Stealing two horses, Draconis and his mother left Qarth for the first time.
Desperate to cross the Red Waste and finally be free, they joined a trade caravan headed for Braavos. Bandits rode down the caravan only two days after they had crossed the desert, slaughtering anyone that didn't surrender, and taking the women and goods. Riding with the only other two survivors, Draconis reached Braavos and immediately listed himself as a bow for hire, yearning for vengeance that may never come, but vowing to kill the man who kidnapped his mother.
He spent the next decade traveling from city to city, working with whichever company was hiring or alone when the business was slim. Poison quickly became a favorite weapon in his arsenal, but the treasured dragonbone bow was where his true talent showed itself. Two years ago, he signed on as a scout with the Ashen Band. Now leading the scouts, he works his way up the ladder inch by inch, until he can finally be in a position to hunt down his nemesis.
