Tyene and Valin were sent with Raithe, but while he was wandering the wilds they were gathering intelligence on various details of the city.

Valin had begun by performing in The Spears of the North, but was by this time playing most nights in The Outwaller, with the occasional show in the Legacy of the Hearth. He did his level best to make friends with as many locals as possible, bought them drinks and listened to them talk.

Valin was sitting in the Outwaller drinking when he heard the horns blow. From his space he could see the gates start to close.
