Raithe Nightwalker, Mara and two other irregulars were ordered to Lyrica a month before the rest of the Band. Raithe and Mara were tasked with finding and questioning one of the raiding plainsmen that the company was hired to defend against. They have spent several weeks in the wilderness chasing rumors of mounted riders, but have not yet located one.

Over the weeks, the quartet had developed a routine of sleeping during the day, so the Asshai'i could avoid the worst of the overbearing sun, and hunting at night utilizing their keen eyes to search for the fires noting camps of their enemy. Raithe had informed the two non-Asshai'i early on that they would keep up or die, more accustomed to ranging alone and not understanding this strange notion of camaraderie some of the men in the company felt.
The journey to Lyrica had been grating to say the least, Raithe experiencing the closest thing he ever had to joy when he left the former bed slave behind the walls. Though the hunt had thusfar been fruitless, it was far preferable to the bustle and stares of people in the city. The noise was the most jarring aspect, as the streets of Asshai are always silent, those walking its dark and twisted streets furtively going about their business.
So it was that when the sun set, the Asshai'i prowled, searching for any signs of their quarry.

One night the two of them spot a series of fires far in the night.
