Saera arrived next. She wore her violet silk tunic with black breeches and tall leather boots. Her sword was belted at her hip, as it always was. She immediately called for a servant to pour her wine.
"Captain, Luceon," she murmured.

"My lord Captain..." Jano said as he entered the dinner place, bowing as expected an nodding to his fellow officers. He was clad in black leather vest, typical Qohorik style for important events.

Saera nodded to the Qhorik. The servant had already poured her wine by now so Saera was busy filling her plate. "Ah, it's good to get away from the noise of the camp sometimes," she murmured.

The sound of hooves on the cobblestones outside heralded the arrival of the Rhoynishman, Lewyn Longlance. Lewyn slid easily from his saddle, then personally made sure his horse was properly stabled. Only once Kelpie was taken care of did Lewyn enter. A slave offered a cup of wine, but he took the flagon instead, taking a drink directly from it before even sitting down.
"So," Lewyn sprawled loosely across his chair, idly reaching out his fingers to pluck a morsel of food from someone else's plate. "Do we have good news? Men to kill, sweet gold to be earned, victories to be taken? Or we just here to drink on your coin, Captain?"

Luceon ran a finger across the ragged line of his lip and spoke softly. "Coin and blood will soon flow but it has been a full year since our band was truly founded. We thought it wise to gather and plan for the next year of service."

Finally arriving, Valea takes get seat infront a much needed glass wine, she nods in respect to those in attendance and greets her Captain. She then began wiping off her hands, removing whatever had stained then with a damp cotton cloth. There was a faint scent of blood in the air.
"My apologies to all for my tardiness", she grins", I was detained and lost track of the time."

"What's there to plan?" Lewyn asked, eyes shifting to the head of the Irregulars. "We need work. Take whatever pays the most. Now that ain't so hard, is it Cornelys?"

"That would be simplicity itself but a death sentence, in its own way. You know which fees are the highest. The ones that tie is to Volantis forever. Ones that swear a ten year contract with us nothing but another unit in the Volantine army." Luceon replied in his worn and raspy voice. He sounded just like the creak of week worn leather boots. Ones right on the verge of cracking.
"We would be used up. They have no loyalty to us. And if we did by some miracle survive ten years as a leashed dog which other employer would trust us?" He asked and gave a slight shrug. "No the best job is the job with the highest wage that is short term and allows us a certain freedom. That is the job I am negotiating."

"So we should take shorter contracts," Saera said. "We need to make a name for ourselves, to spread the word, and that means we must travel and obtain favour from as many paymasters as possible, until we are wealthy enough to pick and choose our contracts."

Qaeyn had just finished getting Shanaedan properly in his stable, giving his stallion a good pat or two on the back as he headed inside the inn and to the meeting. He brushed some black hair out of his face as his bluish grey eyes scanned the room to see everyone there.
"Sorry bout this..." he said as he took a seat, leaning back comfortably as if the intrusion didn't bother him, "Got a bit caught up with some other business. I apologize for that, Captain." he said as a bowed his head a bit to the leader of their group. It was a strange experience he was still getting used to, not having had a superior officer to him for a number of years now.

Arriving just behind Qaeyn, Arghurys entered the inn, muttering something sounding like an apology or explanation as he took a seat, taking oracle from his shoulder and resting the bow against his chair. As he took a seat, he was mostly quiet, listening to the other officers until he thought of anything worth saying.

After tasting her wine, Valea listened for a second. "A contract is a contract, money is money."
Looking at Saera,"But there has to be a better long term contract than here in Volantis."
"We should not be bagabonds jumping from one place to another. I am sure we have all done that, frankly I did not care for it too much."
Maybe her sentiment for staying in one place came from her being in such close proximity to her family. She knew that she would be outweighed but she felt that stirring the pot a little and speaking her mind may cause others to loosen their tongues.

"I must stand with the Captain in this one, gentlemen." Jano made his input, raising a hand to indicate his turn to speak. "Several small contracts will keep the blood flowing hot around the company."
"We must not hang around forever, my men ,at least, are already growing restless. I may not have been a sellsword for more than a year, but I know that men of war need to be constantly on the move, many of them need action... Even if the Magisters send us wherever in a couple months, standing around the streets of the strongest of Valyria'a children will not provide much of that, I assure you. We must worry with the present, not the future."
"It's the best; else we will see our numbers dwindling in short term, insubordination and desertion will only go higher an higher." He stated, taking a sip from his cup.

"Sellswords are not meant to stay in the same place too long," Saera agreed. "At least not when there is nothing much to do. My men are already grumbling about their lack of coin. They need plunder. Plunder and battle. Idleness breeds bad habits in sellswords, certainly."
