How would you even impair your sense of smell? Snort some fire ants as a kid? My aunt lost her sense of smell due to shock (her husband died) and people can also lose their sense of smell due to drug use. Or stroke. Or many other reasons. So it's exactly unheard of. Yep. This. My aunt had a fall and hit her head and lost her sense of smell and taste as a result. She doesn't take any joy from cooking or eating any more. She lost a considerable amount of weight as a result and sometimes doesn't eat for a couple of days which makes her feel quite weak. Also makes her feel quite depressed at times. |

Once again, I was being facetious. I am quite aware there are a number of medical condition that would impair someone's sense of smell.

Where can I find more info from the new book? I'll probably be a Valyrian but I'd like to give my character more context and that will rely on some info from the book maybe.

The Wiki of Ice and Fire is currently operating a "No spoilers" policy regarding the new book but the rule is lifted at the end of the month so I'm sure the superfans who update the Wiki will be filling in the details over time. Other than that, I hear there's a PDF floating about on the internet somewhere, or you could ask us for advice as many of us own the book.  |
