Qaeyn nodded as he heard the name, squirreling it in his mind for later, "I'm Qaeyn." He said before he felt the heavy hand on his shoulder, the act almost knocking him off balance as the big man walked over towards the food line.
"This aught to be fun." He said as he took another bite of his stew, wondering if it might bring some comedy to watch the big oaf get some food. He blinked a second later though, a frown and perplexed look crossing his way, "Oiy, what'd he mean, don't go nowhere?" he muttered to himself, unsure if he'd just been threatned, or if the simple minded giant might simply need a way to find his way out of the tent later.
Given what he'd seen, he wouldn't discount that as a possibility.

Ibbit came back moments later with a large bowl of stew and a couple pieces of bread. He sat back down on the floor with the bowl cradled in his lap and looked up to the man who had pointed him to the food. "Qaeyn.." He says as if trying to remember something, "I've heard tale of you, you're horse man right?"

Qaeyn wasn't surprised by the ibbits seating choice, and he choose to remain standing rather then taken a seat, at least for the moment. He was halfway to taking another spoonful of his food when he stopped, hearing what ibbit had to say.
"...I'm a horse rider, yeah." He said with a nod of his head, setting his spoon back in the bowl as he looked to the larger man, "Is there anything else they say?" He asked, sounding nervously curious as he asked it.

Ibbit shrugs, "Not that I remember, I think." He says taking another bite of the stew. "I'm part of that captain guard group. Not supposed to listen to much, and what I do aint being remembered anyway, just names. He says looking up sheepishly.

Qaeyn was silent, looking into his bowl of stew as he simply stood next to the giant. Then he let on a small smile, looking to the larger man with a look of relief, "That's fine then. You remember whatever you can, Ibbit." He said simply, before taking a bite of his stew, "My horse has a name ya know. Wanna know what it is?"

Valin grabbed himself a bite to eat, then peered around the tent for a moment before taking a seat near Tyene, his fellow irregular. "You sit off from the crowd, my dear. Are we observing the animals gathering 'round the watering hole? I can't fault you, it's certainly more interesting than the food." "They smell," Tyene replied with barely hidden disdain. "Do they not provide infantry and cavalry with bath tubs?" She pouted and sipped at her spoon. "I suppose the only time they come into contact with anyone else is on the battlefield. As should be; leave the talking and convincing and general all the important work to us."

"Of course. If one man smells dreadful, he knows it. If a few hundred men smell dreadful, they have no idea. They live in blessed ignorance of their squalid conditions. Helps keep them from getting uppity."

Tyene nodded, still looking unimpressed. "Then you have this excuse for a meal... what happened to that cook we had before? I am half tempted to find a Volantene food vendor and ask him to deliver meals to me every day until we leave this place."

An amused smile briefly crossed Lysander's face at his commander's outburst. "A tongue lashing with the threat of something more...dire... seemed to be effective for the moment." he said. "The man has an attitude problem - one that needs to be cured." He tapped the sword hilt at his hip. "Perhaps this might do the curing." " "Next time... Send him to me." Jano said assuming again his controlled stance. "Was he a Qohorik? I'd hate to waste another of my original men." He sighed, not sad just disappointed but with a strange grin across his face.

My parents live in the city, and my mother's the finest Rhoynish cook you've ever tasted." Valin smiled wistfully, staring into space. "Been a bit since I made it home, so no doubt they'd make it a proper feast."

"Nope, I'm good. The beasts scare me, I fear they are trying to hurt me." He says wildly, and after a moments consideration adds as an afterthought. "Or was that the wild braid man on the beast." He says trailing off on the thought.

Who's going to notice us - the guards? They'll be too drunk to see their own cock when they try to piss."

"I was surprised to be placed into it, given our history," she said, not moving, "Some of them are less ridiculous than the majority or the..." she considered what the word would be in Asshai'i, but came up lost, "sellswords," She finished in valyrian, "But only some, Their ways are still is stupid as the others, I am glad we lived in a place where such lack of attention would be rewarded with demise." "Fear makes those not accustomed to it do strange things. Better to have us in the same place where they can keep an eye on us." Raithe surmised. "We are as strange to them as they are to us."

"They seem to have no idea about what people are like," she said thinking of what little she has picked up, "It is easy to have ideals and principals while you have food and water and the necessities aplenty, as they do here. They had best pray to their light gods that the shadow never spreads."

Lysander shrugged. "I didn't ask. Dark and solemn was how I would have described him, but otherwise unremarkable. I'll point him out next time we review the men." Lysander was silent for a moment, taking several mouthfuls of the stew, before washing it down with a swig from his cup. "The men have been idle for a while now and I would be derelict in my duty if I did not inform you there appears to be some boredom beginning to set in. Bored men become restless and quarrelsome and that causes trouble." he said suddenly. "Any word on what our next contract might involve?
